Malaysian police arrested nine suspected Islamic State (ISIS) militants, including two suspects linked to the Puchong nightclub bombing, in a four-state swoop, The Straits Times reported.
The bombing occurred on June 28, eight people were injured. It was the first terrorist attack conducted by ISIS in the territory of Malaysia. The responsibility for an explosion was claimed by the Malaysian who is fighting on the side of the ISIS in Syria, Muhammad Wanndy Mohamad Jedi.
As Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar reported, two suspects in a terrorist attack were arrested in the northeast of the country where they were expecting instructions from Mohamad Jedi and were planning new attacks.
Since 2013, some 230 people including 200 Malaysians have been arrested for associating with militants in Malaysia where the majority of the population is Muslim.
