YEREVAN. – A total of sixty persons are defendants in the criminal case into the Sasna Tsrer armed group’s takeover of the buildings and surrounding area of a capital city Yerevan police patrol regiment in July.

Armenian News-NEWS.am on Tuesday has learned about the abovementioned from the press service of the Special Investigation Service of Armenia.

Accordingly, fifty of them are arrested, two others are sought, and precautionary measures not connected with keeping in custody are selected for the others.

Criminal charges have been filed against all defendants.

As of Tuesday, nineteen persons have been recognized as injured party.

In addition, it was found out that five vehicles were set on fire in the area adjacent to the said regiment, and sixteen others were damaged in the area of the regiment.

Also, measures are taken to ascertain the circumstances behind the killing of three police officers as well as the causing of injuries to other persons.
