Turkish intelligence agency Istihbarat Teskilati (MIT) has a huge network of informants in Germany,  Die Welt reported.

According to the information, the number of informants reaches 6,000.

“Here, it's not just about intelligence gathering, but increasingly about intelligence service repression,” German intelligence service expert observer Erich Schmidt-Eenboom stated.

 He noted that even “Stasi” could not manage to create such an extensive network of informants in Germany.

According to veteran opposition Greens parliamentarian Hans-Christian Ströbele there was an “unbelievable” level of “secret activities” in Germany by Turkey's MIT agency. He urged Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution of Germany, federal intelligence service and police quickly to review cooperation with Turkey.
