During a special operation, the workers of the National Security Committee (NSC) of Kazakhstan detained four members of a radical group, which planned series of terror attacks in the country’s territory.

The NSC press-service reported on the aforementioned detention carried out on August 18. 

“Components for home-made bombs an religious and extremist materials have been seized from the group members, who are citizens of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan,” the statement reads, TASS reports.

According to it, the detained radicals planned armed attacks on the workers and places of dislocation of NSC subdivisions, police and military units.   According to the information of intelligence services, during the next stage the extremists were preparing terror attacks in crowded places.  

NSC press-service pointed out that the investigative and operational activities are underway.
