The units of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will be involved in the UN peacekeeping missions, said the CSTO deputy to General Secretary. Valery Semerikov.  " For the first time the CSTO peacekeeping forces will receive a mandate from the UN Security Council and will be involved in the activities in the crisis region in cooperation with the UN mission. It is possible that the CSTO units will be involved in the nearest future, " said Semerikov to the Belta agency.

The Deputy to General Secretary noted that "now there are peacekeeping units of permanent readiness formed in the format of the CSTO, which will be ready to fulfil assignments that comply with the UN standards." These activities will contribute to enhancing the reputation of the organization and all its member states in particular.
