The daughter of the Uzbek President, Lola Karimova-Tillyaeva, has confirmed the death of her father. She wrote in her Instagram: "He left us... I choose my words and cannot believe it myself..."
Islam Karimov passed away on September 2. His funeral will take place on September 3 in Samarkand. The Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will oversee the funeral.
