The European Union does not plan to create armed forces, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini said after the informal Meeting of EU Ministers of Foreign Affairs in Bratislava, Interfax reports.

In her words, the European Army is not something that is going to happen any time soon.

"We, I think, all agree among the Foreign Ministers that, but what can happen very soon, if the Member States are committed, is to advance in the field of European defence with very concrete measures,” Mogherini noted.

The issue of military cooperation has been actively discussed in the European Commission recently in connection with the migration crisis and danger of terrorism.
