YEREVAN. – The Special Investigation Service (SIS) of Armenia continues investigating the criminal case into the Sasna Tsrer armed group’s takeover of a police patrol regiment’s administrative buildings and the surrounding area in capital city Yerevan, on July 17.
Several other related criminal cases have been joined to this criminal case, the SIS informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Sixty persons are included in this criminal case as accused. Fifty of them are placed under arrest, two others are wanted, whereas precautionary measures not connected with keeping in custody are selected for the rest.
At this phase of the investigation, it was found that 46 persons were affected by the resultant crimes. They include the Police of Armenia and two legal entities, and the rest are individuals. A total of 26 of these affected individuals are police officers, and 17 others are ordinary citizens.
As of Tuesday, numerous investigative and judicial actions, including more than 500 questionings, have been taken within the framework of this criminal case.
