Turkey and the EU agreed to reduce tension arising after coup attempt which blocked entry of Ankara into the EU, EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini said following the results of negotiations with the Foreign Minister of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu and Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Omer Celik, Reuters reported.
According to her, a key element of the reached arrangements was to talk more with each other and less about each other, while demonstrating respect. She noted that the EU will continue to work with Turkey concerning the customs union and liberalization of visas, and also added that a new chapter for Turkey's accession to the EU should be opened. She also urged Ankara to begin political process for settlement of problems with Kurdistan Workers' Party.
