Azerbaijani media demand the imposing of sanctions on US, in response to its “anti-Azerbaijani actions.”

In an article that was posted on Haqqin.az news agency of Azerbaijan, several demands are made in response to an article posted on The Washington Post, and by David Kramer and Richard Kauzlarich, former senior staff members of this US daily.

As actions in response, the Azerbaijani media demand that US ambassador to Azerbaijan Robert Cekuta be summoned and handed a protest note for his direct intervention in the internal affairs of Azerbaijan.

The Azerbaijani media also demand that the Azerbaijan ambassador to the US be recalled for respective consultations; defense and security cooperation with the US be suspended; Azerbaijani peacekeeping contingent be withdrawn from Afghanistan; US Air Force flights over Azerbaijani airspace be prohibited; changes in foreign policy be announced; Eurasian Union and the Customs Union integration process be started; and political and military partnership with Russia, Turkey, and Iran  be expanded.

Also, the Azerbaijani media demand that the “Fethullah Gülen Terrorist Organization (FETÖ)” supporters in Azerbaijan be arrested en masse; the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) activities in Azerbaijan be banned; and a strict control be imposed on the grants and funding from the US.
