The number of Islamic extremists, ready to commit violence has reached the highest rate ever in Germany, German Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere told Bild.

There is confirmation that these people could commit serious crimes for political reasons. Their number made more than 520 people, this figure was the highest, German Interior Minister said.

He also noted that law enforcement agencies knew about 360 people who could support Islamists in preparation of the attacks.

Thomas de Maiziere emphasized that at the moment not only groups of criminals who can get into Germany from abroad but also individuals are posing a terrorist threat, TASS reported.
