The Foreign Ministry of Armenia (MFA) welcomes the agreement on Syria, the MFA Spokesman Tigran Balayan said.

“We welcome the agreements reached between the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian FM Sergey Lavrov on the Syrian crisis.

We hope that in accordance with the agreements, all the sides will practically observe the ceasefire and as an urgent step the unhindered entrance of the humanitarian aid will be provided to the regions, which were most damaged during the conflict, as well as the population thereof. In this context, we are rather concerned by the humanitarian situation in Aleppo and its surroundings; the provision of the humanitarian aid to those regions is more than urgent.

We strongly believe that these agreements can pave the way for the start of comprehensive negotiations on the peaceful settlement of the Syrian crisis,” he noted.
