The descendents of the Armenian Genocide survivors and the Australians, who helped them in those hard times, will meet in Sydney.
Historian Peter Stanley, who is one of the authors of the book “Armenia, Australia and the Great War,” will also attend the meeting.
In an interview with ABC, Stanley said that he would like more people in Australia to know about the Armenian Genocide.
According to the professor, it was a pleasure for him to work with the co-author Vicken Babkenian, an Australian-Armenian, who had lots of materials on the issue.
In the book, the authors especially stress the assistance provided by the Australians during the Armenian Genocide. One of the examples was the Australian foster home in Lebanon, which took care of the Armenian children then.
