YEREVAN. - The Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan’s Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun Administrative Districts denied the motion on releasing Sasna Tsrer member Aram Manukyan on bail.  Manukyan will thus remain in custody.

His attorney, Inessa Petrosyan, told journalists that they came up with an argument on her client’s poor health. “Aram Manukyan underwent a serious operation; he needs care. The investigator justified the denial by the possibility that “Aram Manukyan may get released and commit a new crime for setting free his father, Pavel Manukyan,” Petrosyan said.

Aram Manukyan underwent an operation on August 30.

Aram Manukyan is charged under Part 3, Point 1 of Article 219  of the  Criminal Code (seizure of buildings, facilities, transportation or means of communication, committed by an organized group) and paragraph 3 of Article 235 ( sale, storage, transportation, or carrying of illegal weapons, ammunition, explosives and explosive devices organized by an organized group).
