The medal personally given to the well-known American-Armenian doctor Hrair Garabedian by the Armenian President has been stolen.

According to Garabedian, the incident took place back on August 23. Jewelry, family heirlooms and a medal he was awarded for his voluntary work were all stolen. The burglar filled up everything in the pillow case and take off, nwcn.com reports.

Garabedian was awarded the medal for his work in Armenia in 2012. "It means so much to me. Some of them [say], like the medal is just made of bronze, it's not worth anything, but it's worth a lot to me," Garabedian said.

Police have already arrested the suspected burglar, Reuben Miller. According to the investigation, he gave an ex-girlfriend the rings that he stole from the house. Some jewelry was also found at a Pawn Shop, but the doctor said thousands of dollars' worth of Armenian jewelry are still missing.
