The U.S. and Russia failed to agree on how to inform the members of the UN Security Council about bilateral agreements on Syria without putting them at risk, constant US Mission to the United Nations reported.

U.S. officials noted that the UN Security Council can play an important role in settlement of the conflict in Syria, however at the moment Washington intends to implement the agreements reached by heads of Foreign Ministries of Russia and the U.S. Sergey Lavrov and John Kerry.

As it was stressed, the main purpose was delivery of humanitarian aid to the Syrians.

It was reported that they failed to agree on the approach to briefing, and the meeting (UNSC) has been cancelled.
