The United States should not " harbor a terrorist" like Fethullah Gulen , whose activities should be banned worldwide, said  the Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan in an interview with the Reuters. According to him Washington D.C. has no excuse in regard to not fulfilling the request of Gulen’s extradition, whom the Turkish authorities accuse of organizing a coup attempt on July 15.

"If the U.S. is our strategic ally and our NATO partner ... then they should not let a terrorist like Gulen run his organization," said Erdogan. He did not rule out extending the state of emergency in Turkey. " It can be extended for three months or one month or even more ... Gulen's people have infiltrated everywhere ... we will continue to identify and arrest the plotters ... extending the state of emergency will help this process, " Erdogan said.
