Greek authorities refused to grant asylum to three Turkish soldiers, reports the Xinhua news agency , referring to the Migration Service of Greece . As reported earlier 8 Turkish soldiers had fled to Greece after the coup attempt in Turkey on July 1, and requested from the Greek authorities asylum .

The Turkish authorities demanded to extradite the soldiers , calling them " traitors" . The military denied the accusation. They said they decided to escape, when relatives told them about attacks on the military and their helicopter was subjected to shooting. The attorneys of the soldiers informed that they will appeal the decision and will apply to other countries with a request for an asylum.
