Four soldiers were killed in a fighting between Myanmar government troops and 300 violent armed men in Rakhine state, when the government troops were clearing the area following attack on three border posts by the armed men last Saturday, Xinhua reported.

Ac local media reported, fighters armed with guns, swords and knives, attacked troops from the north and the west, near Pyaungpit village. The body of one attacker was claimed while one soldier was injured.

In two other incidents over the last two days, the government troops captured four armed attackers and seven bodies with weapons during an area clearance operation in three other villages.

On Saturday, a violent attack occurred on the three border posts, and nine policemen were killed and five others injured with one still missing.

According to the police, eight armed men were also killed with two being captured alive.
