YEREVAN. - Turkey should stay away from Karabakh conflict settlement process as much as possible.

Armenian Deputy FM Shavarsh Kocharyan said the aforementioned, commenting upon the request of First Informational TV program on the statements made by Turkish FM Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu's regarding Karabakh process during the PACE session.

''The settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is first of all aimed at determining the status of Nagorno-Karabakh in accordance with the expression of will by the Nagorno-Karabakh people, which has a binding force.  

The head of the Turkish MFA once again attempted to distort the negotiation process, this again proving what has been repeatedly stated: Turkey should stay away from the conflict settlement process as much as possible,'' Kocharyan noted.

Referring to Çavuşoğlu's statements on the Armenian-Turkish relations, the Deputy FM said that if Ankara really wished to normalize its ties with Armenia, it would have ratified the Zurich Protocols of 2009 in due time.
