The President of the US Barack Obama Democracy during his speech in Athens stressed the importance of "peaceful" transition of power in the US, reports the Voice of America.

" We compete hard in campaigns. But even after elections, democracy depends on a peaceful transition of power,” said Obama. “The next American president and I could not be more different … But American democracy is bigger than any one person.”

Obama stressed that the United States supports Europe, despite existing concerns about the US isolation policy, after Donald Trump takes his post.
