YEREVAN. – The Minister of Economic Development and Investment of Armenia, Suren Karayan, on Wednesday received representatives from the European Commission Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR) of the European Union (EU).

Karayan noted that Armenia underscores collaboration with the EU, and expects an effective continuity and further development of this cooperation, the Ministry of Economic Development and Investment informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Reflecting on the EU assistance to be provided to Armenia between 2017 and 2020, the minister presented the primary preferred domains of this assistance, especially highlighting the avenues for facilitating the business climate, small and medium-sized enterprise policy, and trade in Armenia.

Director of the European Commission DG NEAR Division for Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, and Eastern Partnership, Vassilis Maragos, for his part, drew attention to the ongoing negotiations on a new framework agreement between Armenia and the EU, in terms of making bilateral cooperation grow deeper.
