YEREVAN. – Our objective is to turn brain drain into brain circulation, and the [European Union’s (EU)] Horizon 2020 [Framework Programme for research and innovation] shall serve this important objective.

EU Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn, on Thursday told the aforementioned to reporters in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan. He stated this after the eighth Informal Eastern Partnership dialogue devoted to research, science, and innovation.

Hahn noted that economic development takes place by making use of scientific research potential, which exists in Armenia. He added that, by associating with Horizon 2020, Armenia gets great opportunity to  integrate into the European system of scientific research.

To note, around 30 state-run scientific organizations and institutions of higher education in Armenia will be able to participate in the thematic competitions of Horizon 2020 Framework Programme.
