YEREVAN. – Armenia attaches importance to its engagement within Eastern Partnership, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said during a press conference summing up the 8th Eastern Partnership Informal Ministerial Dialogue.

“My colleagues and I had efficient discussions important for cooperation within the framework of Eastern Partnership,” Nalbandian said.

The participants touched upon the results of the EU summit in Riga.

“It was important for the development of relations between the EU and Eastern Partnership program partners. The declaration adopted as a result of the summit identified the main areas of work, both in the bilateral as well as multilateral format,” the Minister said.

According to him, Armenia has managed over the past year to achieve tangible results, namely to continue negotiations with the EU to establish a new legal framework for cooperation. The coutry also joined the program of development of small and medium-sized businesses as well as educational program.

The Minister said Armenia expects to start negotiations on accession to the common aviation area, as well as to start a dialogue on visa facilitation in the near future.
