YEREVAN. - President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Thursday received EU Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn.

The President and the EU Commissioner were pleased to recall their previous meeting, following which President Sargsyan recorded qualitative progress in the Armenian-EU cooperation. According to him, the high-level political dialogue has activated and certain achievements have been recorded. Sargsyan also noted that certain issues discussed with Mr Hahn, including the negotiations on legal documents, have already become part of the bilateral agenda.

According to the Armenian President, the country attaches importance to its participation in the Eastern Partnership program and during the past years did its best for the establishment and development of that cooperation format. He also expressed hope that the results of the ministerial discussions on educational, scientific and research matters ahead of the Eastern Partnership summit in Brussels in 2017 will positively contribute to the enhancement of cooperation between the EU and partner states.

Apart from this, President Serzh Sargsyan and EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn exchanged views on regional matters and challenges, as well as the Karabakh conflict settlement process.
