U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter and French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian signed two documents furthering military cooperation between their two countries today in Washington, Pentagon Press Secretary Peter Cook said in a readout of the meeting, U.S. Department of Defense reported.

The Pentagon document said that U.S.-France obligations as countries possessing nuclear weapons, as well as more serious strategic challenges, force the countries to expand already carried out regularly bilateral consultations. Based on the results of the NATO summit in Warsaw, they intend to continue helping with revival of nuclear culture of the alliance.
