The Rwandan Prosecutor General's Office is investigating a possible participation of 20 French soldiers and high-ranking officials in the Rwandan genocide in 1994, reports Reuters, referring to the Prosecutor General of Rwanda Richard Muhumuza.

The prosecutor added, that he got in touch with members of the French government for about two weeks on this issue. Muhumuza also said, that his Ministry intends to interrogate the French, who are suspected of involvement in the genocide.

On November 16, Jean-Yves Le Drian, the Defense Minister of France, publicly criticized actions of the Rwandan investigation agency and called the suspects of French participation in the genocide as "absolutely false.”
