French Armenians staged three large protests in three large cities of the country on Tuesday evening in connection with the visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Co-chairman of the Coordination Council of Armenian Organizations in France (CCAF), Mourad Papazian, told Armenian News - NEWS.am that the protests were staged in Paris, Lyon and Marseille.

“Our protests aimed to once again confirm the view that the Karabakh issue can only be solved by peaceful means, Azerbaijan being the provocateur of war. Besides, by these protests we want to reconfirm that the Diaspora stands by Artsakh and Artsakh Armenians. At the same time, we remind France and the French how tyrannical Azerbaijan is,” Papazian said.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Tuesday met with his French counterpart François Hollande. Last week, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan also visited France. Together with Mr Hollande they discussed, among other issues, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement.
