The activities of “Strong Turkey” (GTP) party leader Tuna Beklevic are intended for domestic audience, as everyone wants to win fame through PR activities, Polish Ambassador to Armenia Zdzislaw Raczynski told NEWS.am, commenting on GTP leader’s sensational statement on his crossing the Armenia-Turkey border.

“How to get on the front pages of newspapers?  Something unusual should be done, to make a statement on illegal crossing of the border. I do not see any other intent except for domestic political steps,” the diplomat said.

Commenting on experts’ standpoints, that Turkish authorities use “Strong Turkey” party to show a democratic force has been formed in the country as a counterbalance to conservative forces, Raczynski said: “The Government does not need to show off anything, as there is a group of people in any society, who are ahead of their time and are able to step over the past by standards. Another question is whether this party reflects these tendencies. However, the fact the Turkish society has it is of no doubt,” the Ambassador noted.

As NEWS.am reported previously, recently National Security Service of Armenia offered the leader of the party “Strong Turkey” Tuna Beklevic to leave Armenia, after the latter declared he and his party fellows crossed the closed Armenian-Turkish border with good intentions.
