Geological explorations for uranium resumed in Lernadzor village in Syunik region, southern Armenia, a legal consultant of Kapan “Ecological Safety and Democracy Development” NGO environmental organization Arthur Ghazarayn told Ecolure.

 As NEWS.am reported previously, the operations were suspended, as equipment intended for geological explorations for uranium caught fire in Lernadzor village, Syunik Marz, October 29.

 Armenian Government jointly with RusAtom Company is carrying out uranium explorations in Lernadzor village in Syunik region. However, local authorities and environmental organizations are struggling against ongoing prospecting for uranium in Lernadzor community.
