YEREVAN. – The new Armenia-European Union (EU) agreement gives Armenia everything, on the one hand, but nothing, on the other hand. 

Yerevan State University Centre for European Studies Director, analyst Artur Ghazinyan, stated the aforementioned at a press conference on Saturday.

In his words, precepts that contribute to local authorities’ carrying out of real reforms lie at the basis of cooperation between the EU and other countries.

“[But] Armenia can’t expand its economic cooperation with EU, since it [Armenia] is an EAEU [Eurasian Economic Union] member, in the formal sense,” stressed Ghazinyan.

At the same time, as per the analyst, civil society assistance is needed to implement the Armenia-EU agreement.
