YEREVAN. – The most important latest event for Armenia is the visit of President Sargsyan to Paris and his meetings with the French political leadership, particularly, with President Emmanuel Macron, the deputy speaker of the Armenian parliament Eduard Sharmazanov told reporters on Thursday.
According to him, during these meetings it was confirmed that Armenia pursues a successful foreign policy.
“As the president noted, we are a CSTO member and Russia’s ally, but at the same time, Armenia managed to maintain very good relations with the European Union, the EU member states, particularly with France,” Sharmazanov said.
Armenian-French relations are developing dynamically, noted Sharmazanov, adding that during the International Forum of Francophonie, Armenia will become one of the world's political centers for a while.
According to the deputy Speaker, the meetings in France were very impressive.
“Armenia will continue to develop democracy and carry out institutional reforms. The French side confirmed its readiness to take an active part and to give Yerevan an appropriate support,” the spokesperson for the ruling party concluded.
