Incumbent President Nicos Anastasiades has won Sunday’s first round of presidential elections in Cyprus by receiving 35.5 percent of the votes, reported TASS news agency of Russia.
Anastasiades’ challenger in the presidential runoff will be Progressive Party of Working People (AKEL) representative Stavros Malas, who gained 30.25 percent of the ballots cast in the first round.
