YEREVAN. – Armenia's position has strengthened in terms of the settlement of Karabakh conflict, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan said at the meeting with the Armenian foreign ministry's senior officials.

 “We have never attempted to shift our part of responsibility for resolving international and regional issues onto the shoulders of others. Peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict will continue to be among the priorities of our foreign policy agenda. Of course, we will continue unswervingly to promote efforts for a peaceful settlement of the conflict within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group format,” he said.

Thanks to the consistent work in the settlement process over the past ten years, the positions of the Armenian side have significantly strengthened, President emphasized, adding that the Armenia side managed to consolidate the right to self-determination as the fundamental principle of conflict resolution.

The President stressed importance of key international events that Armenia will host this year: the Francophonie summit, events timed to the 100th anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia and May heroic battles, the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan and the third global forum “Against the Crime of Genocide”.
