YEREVAN. – Significant progress has been made in relations between Lebanon and Armenia.
Visiting Lebanese President Michel Aoun said the abovementioned at Thursday’s joint briefing with President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, in capital city Yerevan.
In his words, their meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, and this reflects the special relations between the two peoples.
The Lebanese president recalled that a large Armenian community lives in his country, and that many of its members hold accountable positions.
Aoun spoke also about the current situation in Syria. He stressed that even though Lebanon successfully confronts terrorism, the international community needs to strengthen in a mutually agreed manner the fight against terrorism.
Thanking the President of Armenia for the support, Michel Aoun assured that Lebanon stands with Armenia in the protection of natural interests.
The Lebanese president reflected also on Israel’s threats, and the construction of a dividing line nearby the disputed territories.
