On January 10, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan introduced new agriculture minister Sergo Karapetyan to the ministry staff.

According to him, Karapetyan is well aware of problems in agriculture sphere. “We have been closely cooperating with him for many years regarding situation in the agriculture sector,” Prime Minister noted.

Premier Sargsyan expressed hope that newly appointed minister will implement the reforms government is expecting to carry out in this field.

“I hope last year’s difficult conditions will not reoccur in 2011 and no decline will be registered in agriculture sector,” Sargsyan said.

Prime Minister also expressed gratitude to Gerasim Alaverdyan for the work he had done.

As NEWS.am reported earlier, Sergo Karapetyan was appointed Agriculture Minister of Armenia on December 31, 2010. He heads “Artfood” cannery located in the Armenian city of Artashat.
