There is hardly any other conflict sank in lies more than the Karabakh dispute, Russian diplomat said today during Yerevan-Moscow spacebridge. Vladimir Kazimirov, former co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, said that one nation is being brainwashed, adding it is clear what country he means.

“They say an agreement on strengthening of ceasefire regime should be reached. Great idea, no doubt, but the treaty was signed long ago. Leaders of the states and defense ministers put signatures under it on February 4, 1995. Why is Baku silent about it?” Kazimirov wonders. He recalled that Yerevan and Stepanakert had repeatedly called to appeal to the document.

Soyun Sadikov, President of Federal National-Cultural Autonomy of the Russian Azerbaijanis (AZERROS), stressed it happened back in 1995, while “now is 2011”, adding that it was a different time.

Vladimir Kazimirov also recalled that one of the sides [we know which exactly] rejected a demand that troops should be pulled back after the ceasefire agreement was reached. “It is obvious that troops should be pulled back to defuse tension. However, agreeing to it one of the sides refused to fulfill commitment 1.5 months later. Moreover, the mentioned side started digging trenches nearer to use not only sniper rifles but throwing grenades,” he emphasized.
