The United States supports the efforts of the new Armenian government.
US National Security Adviser John Bolton on Thursday stated about the abovementioned at his meeting with acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.
First, Bolton thanked for the reception and conveyed to Pashinyan the warm greetings by US President Donald Trump.
The US National Security Adviser noted that they underscore the development and deepening of Armenian-American relations during this historic period for Armenia.
Bolton said the US supports the new Armenian government’s efforts to combat corruption, augment the transparency of the judicial system, and increase the government’s accountability before the people.
Subsequently, the interlocutors discussed several matters that are on the agenda of relations between the two countries.
The Armenian acting PM and the US National Security Adviser exchanged views also on the process to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict; in this connection, they highlighted the need for taking consistent steps aimed at a pacific settlement of this issue.
In addition, Nikol Pashinyan and John Bolton conferred on international matters, including the processes taking place in the region.
