Chairman of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) Gagik Tsarukyan intends to sign a new coalition memorandum thereby pledging to support Serzh Sargsyan at the 2013 presidential election, “168 zham” reports.

The publication of the declaration was postponed because of the PAP congress on Feb. 12. If the PAP refuses to sign the memorandum, the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) will demand secession from the coalition from the PAP.

The PAP claims that it was its own initiative thereby setting the RPA a challenging task – causing the PAP to secede from the coalition. To substantiate their claim, PAP members refer to Gagik Tsarukyan, who stated the following at the PAP congress: “Prosperous Armenia is committed to the letter and spirit of the coalition agreement. As part of the coalition government, we are conscientiously implementing our programs.”
