Michael Hayes, 62, was arrested in the U.S. state of Virginia on February 18, “Zhamanak” daily reads.

According to the daily, Hayes worked in Armenia in 2009 within the framework of United States Agency for International Development (USAID). He was responsible for financial management of USAID.

Hayes transferred $ 19.000 from the U.S. government’s funds on his personal account. “The transaction was made through one of the Armenian banks,” the source says.
