US President Donald Trump is ready for the fact that the budget crisis-related partial government shutdown may last a long time, Deutsche Welle (DW) reported. 

In Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s words, at a White House meeting Friday with the Democrat leaders, Trump said such a situation can be maintained “for a very long period of time—months, or even years.” 

Also, the US president described the aforesaid meeting to resolve the budget crisis as “very productive.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, for her part, said the parties agree to continue negotiations.

The White House and Congress representatives will meet again on Saturday, the Presidential Staff has informed.
