YEREVAN. – In all likelihood, first meeting of the National Assembly (NA) “My Step” Faction will take place on January 14.

Spokesperson of Armenia’s ruling Civil Contract Party, Vahan Kostanyan, told about the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“Hakob Simidyan will be the secretary of the faction,” he added. “The names of the chairs, vice-chairs of the [NA standing] committees are still being discussed.

“And the makeup of the [new] NA delegation to PACE [Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe] will be ready on January 15, so that the names of the members of the delegation be sent to PACE on the 16th [of January].” 

In Kostanyan’s words, all questions will be answered between January 10, when the MPs of the 7th convocation NA will formally receive their parliamentary mandates, and first session of the new legislature.

As reported earlier, the 7th convocation NA will have 132 MPs comprising 88 lawmakers from My Step bloc, 26 deputies from the Prosperous Armenia Party, and 18 MPs from the Bright Armenia Party.

First session of the 7th convocation legislature of Armenia is slated for January 14.
