Law enforcement officers in France detained almost 300 people during Saturday's ‘yellow vests’ demonstrations, the French Interior Ministry Secretary of State Laurent Núñez told BMF channel.

Commenting on the ‘yellow vests’ actions, Núñez noted that police and gendarmes faced unprecedented violence during the protests.

The secretary justified the use of rubber bullets by law enforcement officers, TASS reported.

According to the French Interior Ministry, about 84 thousand people were mobilized during Saturday protests.
