I am skeptical about those who predict outbreak of large-scale hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh, Vladimir Kazimirov, former co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group stated at the “Prospects for Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement: possibilities and obstacles” conference on February 24, aif.ru reports.
There are many contradictions in this conflict. I do not think military hostilities will resume suddenly as a result of an incident. The outbreak of war requires a political solution, and the Azerbaijani leadership is unlikely to make such a move, Kazimirov said.
He also noted that the OSCE is rather soft on the issue. “The organization’s leadership fails to carry out activities, whereas OSCE should be “intolerant” to this conflict,” he noted.
Kazimirov emphasized a response to any move of the Azerbaijani political elite must be tough.
