Armenia’s first president, leader of the oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) Levon Ter-Petrosyan held a meeting with EU’s special envoy for the South Caucasus Peter Semneby.

The sides discussed recent developments concerning collapse of authoritarian regimes in Africa, ANC press service informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Ter-Petrosyan and the EU official also touched upon domestic political situation in Armenia, the ways to overcome political crisis, in particular release of the political prisoners, the statement reads.

Head of the EU delegation to Armenia Raul de Luzenberger and representatives of the ANC central office were present at the meeting.
