On February 25, Armenian youth organizations in Washington organized a protest action in the memory of the innocent victims of Sumgait tragedy.

Armenian Youth Federation, Armenian church youth organizations and many young people gathered in front of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Washington. The protestors were carrying banners and chanting slogans condemning Sumgait crime.

The demonstrators demanded to punish the organizers of pogroms in Sumgait, Baku, Kirovabad, Shahumyan, Maragha and other Armenian-populated areas. They called to stop agression against Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, stop supplying arms to Azerbaijan’s dictatorial regime and respect Karabakh people’s rights.
