Forty-eight Armenian MPs have collected signatures for nomination of Karen Andreasyan to the post of Armenian Ombudsman.

Armenian Parliament Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan stated in Parliament that the issue is on the agenda of the March 2 sitting. The Ombudsman will be appointed by a secret ballot.

Karen Andriasyan has been nominated by the ruling majority. The opposition forces, Heritage and Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun (ARF-D) have no intention to nominate a candidate.
