The tragic events on March 1, 2008, threatened the country with a social split and were the result of incapable civil and state institutions in Armenia, Eduard Sharmazanov, Secretary of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) faction, stated in Parliament.
The tragic events might have been prevented if Armenia had full-fledged and efficient civil and state institutions. "During the following years we managed to prevent exacerbation, and the new coalition memorandum signed by the ruling forces is evidence of constructive steps," Sharmazanov said.
