President Donald Trump is optimistic over his upcoming summit with Kim Jong Un of North Korea.
“I will be leaving for Hanoi, Vietnam, early tomorrow for a Summit with Kim Jong Un of North Korea, where we both expect a continuation of the progress made at first Summit in Singapore. Denuclearization?” he tweeted.
After their first meeting in June 2018 Trump said everyone can feel safer than on the day when he came to power.
Nevertheless, there is no clear indication that the meeting which will take place this week in Hanoi the leaders of U.S. and North Korea will achieve progress on finalizing precise conditions for the promised denuclearization.
Talking to CNN on Sunday, State Secretary Mike Pompeo said there will be no changes in the American sanctions against North Korea until Pyongyang is ready for clear verified denuclearization.
