Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Richard Doornbosch, Director of the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund, who represents Armenia at the IMF, Armenian Government’s press service.

The Government attaches great importance to the continuation of cooperation with the IMF and is interested in further deepening of the constructive partnership, the Prime Minister noted.

According to the director of the executive board of the IMF, Armenia is a reliable partner, and the IMF is ready to help the government of the country in carrying out reforms in various directions.

The sides discussed the prospects for expanding and developing cooperation. The Prime Minister touched upon the Government’s reform agenda, high-tech promotion issues, the Tax Code reform, the creation of micro-business, the reform of public administration and education, as well as anti-corruption policy.

Nikol Pashinyan noted that with a change in the structure of the economy and the promotion of the use of high technologies in various sectors, the Government seeks to position Armenia as a technological country and to form an export-oriented economy given the huge potential in the field of information technologies.

According to the Prime Minister, the task of the Government is to create opportunities in Armenia and stimulate entrepreneurship so that everyone can realize their potential and contribute to the development of the country.

Highlighting the need for institutional and expert capacity, he paid special attention to the appropriate assistance of international business structures, including the IMF.

According to Richard Doornbosch, the IMF is ready to discuss the possibilities of promoting reforms in the areas mentioned by the Prime Minister.
